New way to extract the icons

I had said in other post that you could extract the icon from an EXE file using the Icons from file Windows program on the Mac WineBottler, but despite being a very simple program, it's very slow to open.

There is a solution, and it's called Anywhere PE Viewer, and can be obtained here: Download

This program is written in Java, and was built for Windows, but the site give the program on the jar format too for those using Linux or Mac OS X.

Note: It can not extract the icon of certain applications. I don't know what is the criteria but it's better left Icons from file installed for an emergency situation.

Creating an Installer

Made an application to Mac or emulate a Windows application and want to put it on the web? Do you think it is too heavy? Your problems are over!

To create the installer you must have the following programs:
Packages

Follow these instructions:
1 - Open the Package and click "Next";
2 - Put the name of the program "Project Name" and choose the location where the installer will be created in "Project Directory" then click "Finish";
3 - Put the program name in the "Name" field;
4 - In the cap options, click "Presentation" and change the "Preview in" for "English";
5 - In the corner left side, click the program name under the word "Package";
6 - In the options above, click the "payload". Click on "Applications" in the folder "Contests" and then click the + sign at the bottom;
7 - Select the program that you previously converted/created;
8 - Enter ⌘ + B on the keyboard;
9 - Navigate to the folder you selected to create the installer, open the "build" and there's the installer.

And for the Grand Finale, put it in a DMG file:
10 - Rename the folder to the builded program name;
11 - Open "Disk Utility", on folder Applications -> Utilities;
12 - Enter ⌘ + Shift + N and select the folder you just renamed;
13 - Choose where to save the DMG, white it's name, and change the "Format Picture" to "Read Only".


Note: For programs emulated in Winebottler not require Wine to run, activate the checkbox next to the word "self-contained" before clicking the "Install" when building the emulator, but it will make the program 200 MB heavier.

Mac Programs download

Most Windows users find it difficult to find programs for Mac OS X and Linux, but are sadly wrong! Linux users are well aware of what I'm talking about, and know very well how to install programs without even opening your browser (O.O), but is also simple for Mac (mainly for those who know where to look).
